Operations Associate

Full-time

Onsite

Pineville, NC

$20–$24 / hour

Job Overview

This is the job that makes sure the right material gets to the right customer, every time. Operations Associates pick and package orders, receive and inspect incoming shipments, and move metal safely through the warehouse, from the dock to the shelf to the truck. What ships out of here ends up in aircraft, so the standard is simple: get it right.

Key Responsibilities

Packaging and order fulfillment

  • Pick and package customer orders, protecting sheet, plate, tube, and other material through handling and shipping.
  • Build skids and packaging to spec, and verify part numbers, quantities, condition, and paperwork before anything ships.
  • Flag damaged material or unclear instructions before moving forward, not after.

Receiving and shipping

  • Unload and inspect incoming material against purchase orders, checking for damage, quantity, and proper identification.
  • Move received material into inventory and the correct storage location.
  • Prepare outbound orders and shipping documentation, and stage freight for pickup or delivery.

Equipment and material handling

  • Operate forklifts, saws, and packaging equipment safely, after training.
  • Move and store metal products throughout the warehouse, following proper handling procedures to prevent damage.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance or safety concerns.

Safety and compliance

  • Follow Aviation Metals’ safety procedures, PPE requirements, and safe lifting techniques.
  • Report hazards, injuries, or unsafe conditions immediately.

Warehouse organization

  • Keep your work area, aisles, and equipment clean and organized every shift, following 5S principles.
  • Return tools and supplies to their place after use, and clear scrap and damaged packaging from work areas.

Inventory and documentation

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and material traceability from receiving through shipping.
  • Complete required paperwork and system entries accurately, and speak up when something does not match.

Qualifications

  • Attention to detail. High accuracy in material handling, inventory, and documentation.
  • Dependability. Shows up ready to work and sees tasks through.
  • Physical stamina. Comfortable with lifting, carrying, standing, and repetitive movement.
  • Teamwork and communication. Works cleanly with supervisors and teammates, speaks up when something’s off.
  • Quality mindset. Moves fast without cutting corners.

What the Work Is Like

Warehouse work. Standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive movement through the shift, working around forklifts, saws, and metal in motion. Some material takes two people to move safely. This role is for someone who can handle the physical pace of it and keep their focus sharp while doing it.
