8630 is a low alloy steel containing nominally 0.3% Carbon, 0.5% Chrome, 0.2% Molybdenum and 0.5% Nickel. The alloy is popular in Oil Field applications, typically for connectors, hangers and block valves. Strength can be increased by heat treatment.
