UNC Charlotte Sponsorship Update

2026 Team

Aviation Metals is proud to sponsor two UNC Charlotte engineering teams for the 2026 Senior Design Program. This partnership allows students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world industrial challenges while bringing fresh ingenuity to our operations.

Following a semester of regular collaboration and the successful completion of conceptual design reviews, the projects focus on two key areas:

Innovation: Designing and building a custom
metal sheet tape machine.

Optimization: Refining a single-operator
material handler designed for
efficient transport, building on the foundations
of last year’s project.

Over the summer, the teams will begin ordering parts and materials, with full-scale construction slated to start next semester. Read more about last year’s team here.
