Alloy 2219 is readily weldable and useful for applications over a temperature range of -450° to 600°F. It has high fracture toughness and the T* temper is highly resistant to stress and corrosion cracking. The T8 temper is resistant to stress. Corrosion cracking used in welded space fuel tanks, supersonic aircraft skin and structure components.
