Alloy Steel > Tubing > 9310
9310 steel is a low alloy steel that contains Nickel, Chromium, and Molybdenum. 9310 Vac Melt is a high quality carburizing steel produced by a vacuum consumable electrode process. 9310 has a high hardenability, high core hardness and high fatigue strength. All of those aspects considered, it is ideally suited for aircraft engine gear and pinon applications.
A chromium-nickel-molybdenum carburizing steel having high hardenability, good core strength, and superior fatigue resistance. Has been used for applications requiring an extra measure of core strength in sections up to 5 inches thick.
9310 has been used in very large parts requiring maximum strength, wear resistance and toughness. Applications have included heavy-duty gears, shafts, clutch parts, piston pins, chain rollers and bushings, wrist pins, boring bars, cutting shanks, jig bars, ratchets, power tool cams, rock drill assemblies, broad folders and rolls for aluminum rolling.
